kinda something i’m looking foward to. it’s a big worship night and i think Laura Allen is gunna jump on the bill too. this may be, as my friends in Oak Cliff would maybe say, the illest and the chillest.

Studio Update

We’ve been in the studio for a little bit now but have made some major headway for five songs. We are currently working on the bass and electric guitars. Like I keep saying.. this is going to  be epic. 

As for other things, life has been great so far at the beginning of the new year! except of the small fact that I got sick with strep throat. But i should be getting better. hoping because of the fact that I have a show this Friday at the Door in Plano, Texas. WHICH everyone should go to!! I hear it will be a metal show and i’m the opening act… yyyyea. so, it should be interesting. Be sure to catch me with my Mixtape on sale for 7 dollars!! 14 songs, some songs that will be on the debut album coming soon!!

in the studio… for real

So after a lot of time and waiting, I met up and befriended the Guys at C-Factory. Jonathan Comacho of Intake, Chris Chavarria, and I are teaming up to finally get a decent album out. we just tracked drums to five songs and after a few more we’ll be laying down the guitars and vocals and whatever else. My First Article and Studio Update

Tonight the Stars Speak…

I find myself with a fascination for stars like a dog for a laser light.

So i have a new song in the works, but it doesn’t have a name currently, along with going home to the fam, show in Houston on Saturday afternoon, finding a band for the show, late drive back to Dallas to play with Laura Allen and the youth band on Sunday, starting a new jobs, paying rent, meetings meetings meetings blah blah blah…

updating this blog has been the last thing on my list of things to do, besides, of course, the lack of commitment of even writing.

Musically, I’ve been moving at a sluggish rate. I’ve been playing a lot at church but as for myself, I’ve been to tired to even think about it or inspired. Last night, though, i sat back and waited for my eyes to adjust to the dark just so I could see the stars and even saw a meteor flash by my peripheral vision. It was a sight to see, i’m trying to get back to the inspiration of the Creative Power of God, and to appreciate the beauty that is in the palm of His hand. In fact i’m going to do just that right now. Peace.

Days of the Brighter Dawn

my days have become constant mornings and cool breezes.
i’m regaining my focus now. there was a day i felt a constant jump in my chest. i believe it was 2005. i am determined to become a purist again like i used to be.
there was only a handful who remember this. it was all about living life to the fullest, long walks to nowhere, early in the morning, late at night. going to the zoo, bright eyes, smiles, washed faces, warm embraces.

i’m determined to rediscover that. it was a very good year, before the poorest of choices, before the stresses that adulthood brings. i’m redefining who i am. constant purchasing of Odwallas and cold weather. i had a life. i’m taking it back.

now if i could only just get paid.

Canceled Shows, Strep Throat, and Hurricane Ike

I found out a couple of weeks ago that a couple of dates coming up had been canceled by a few things. First of all, I’d like to apologize to everyone who were expecting to see my shows. For the festival in Greenwood South Carolina, the folks of O.N.E. cancelled the entire festival for disclosed reasons, and for the Tag Team show with Laura Allen,  she had to cancel because she has a night of worship with Brian & Kristan Ming in Washington, D.C.

On other news, I’m pretty sure I have strep throat, or did… believing in miracles and having faith has it’s easy times, but when i say i’m fighting strep or have strep, they rebuke me, saying that I shouldn’t be speaking over my body like that. Since when did it become a negative mantra? What ever happened to calling it as it is? being sick? So now what do I say? Regardless, i’m getting over it. the swelling has gone downabout 40-50% and the back of my throat doesn’t look so disgusting. Thanks be to God for His divine healing.

Keep in prayer for those in South Texas including my entire family in Houston. My entire hometown, my family, my friends, my Brothers, everyone has fell victim to Hurricane Ike. No need for details, the media was right about everything down there and i’ve underestimated the storm myself thinking it wasn’t going to be that bad. I was wrong. My city has been ransacked, 1 million evacuees, and who knows how many survivors. please keep them in prayer. For my close friends, formally the Burning is Here, Justin and The Covey Family, Isaac Eccles and Family, Ecclesia Family and Freinds, and everyone else, I hope you guys are okay.
